On the Road . . . St. Andrews

Even though the historic town of St. Andrews has impressive architecture and charming shops, our tour wanted to spend their 2-hour visit at the Links course and clubhouse.

The 7 courses at St. Andrews are public and managed and maintained by the St. Andrews Links Trust, a charitable organization set up in 1974 by an Act of Parliament. The popular Old Course sustains around 42,000 rounds a year.

Golf has been played on St. Andrews Links since around 1400 AD; the Old Course is renowned throughout the world as the Home of Golf.

Our 2-hour visit to St. Andrews didn't allow time for golf, but we had lunch in the Links Clubhouse and did some shopping.

The pro shop at St. Andrews made shopping for golf enthusiasts easy, even factoring in the exchange rate! All purchases from the shop contribute towards the maintenance and preservation of the Links.
