Doug Designs Book Cover for Canadian Author Jim Foster

Canadian humorist, newspaper columnist and author Jim Foster asked Doug last spring if he would do the cover artwork for The Crowning of Miss Mariposa, which Foster launched 2 weeks ago in Swanmore Hall at the Leacock Museum in Orillia, Ontario.

Canadian legend Stephen Leacock, who spent summers in Orillia, wrote Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town in 1912; the story was set in the fictional town of Mariposa.  Foster's book is an update of daily life in Mariposa as seen through the eyes of an elderly character named Montgomery Thompson Morrison.

In addition to writing columns for The Packet & Times since 1995, Foster also wrote I Hate To Complain, But . . . (1999) and Still Complaining (2001).
